Home staging tip: Because of their size and shape fireplace mantels don’t offer many options when it comes to decorating/staging them. I mean, besides some candles and other narrow accessories you don’t have a lot of choices. So, is it ok to leave them empty? Absolutely yes. Remember, you don’t have to fill every single horizontal space when you stage a house. Besides, small items create clutter. In this case, since we felt that the rest of the room had already a lot going on in terms of accessories, we opted for a simple and symmetrical composition by using two medium size pictures hung at the same level.
