This morning I was browsing my files when I found a photo that I saved way before I discovered Pinterest, one of the greatest and most useful websites, that allows you to collect in one place (and on as many boards as you like), all the best pictures/ideas that you find online. And so, I decided to share this photo with you because I think this is one of the best decorating ideas I’ve ever seen for a kids bedroom: the alcove bed.

I can picture any kid sleeping in this alcove, and feeling cozy and protected. I also love the painted hardwood floor, with big white and light blue squares. Unfortunately I think there’s one caveat: you can do it only if the room has two windows, otherwise the alcove would prevent the natural light from flowing into the room. Unless, of course, the room is big enough that you don’t need to sacrifice a window… In any case, I think your child would be super happy to have his/her own little niche. Think about it!
